A new fair in Warsaw. The tallest Ferris wheel in Poland is to be built here
This year, Warsaw will have a real Christmas town. There are many attractions planned, including: great carousel – ferris wheel.
They have as many supporters as opponents. Christmas markets, which originate from the medieval traditions of Germany and Austria, have for years been the main tourist attractions in large cities, including in Poland. So far, in the capital you could go to the fair near Sigismund’s Column, in Międzymurzie Piotr Biegański and visit the stalls in the Old Town Square, near the ice rink. This year, on Plac Defilad in front of the Palace of Culture and Science, a real Christmas town will grow, similar to those in Krakow and Wrocław.
A new Christmas market in Warsaw
“This will be the first edition of an event that will introduce a festive atmosphere to the center of Warsaw – with a rich program of attractions, handicrafts, culinary specialties and beautiful illuminations,” announced the organizers of the Warsaw Christmas Fair in an interview with the Warszawa Nasza Miasto portal.
A town with a hundred wooden houses with handicrafts, crafts and regional delicacies will be built on Plac Defilad. The main attraction is to be the tallest Ferris wheel in Poland (currently the tallest carousel of this type is located in Szczecin and is 55 m high).
There will also be a Venetian carousel and a Christmas tree carousel waiting for guests. As in fairs in other cities, the event area will include a stage where concerts, artistic performances and charity events will be organized. The start of the Warsaw Fair is scheduled for November 28. The stands will be available until January 1, 2026.
Two fairs in Wrocław
There will also be a festive atmosphere in Wrocław, where two fairs are planned – one in the market square and the other on the premises of the Partynice Wrocław Horse Racing Track. In an interview with “Gazeta Wrocławska”, the event organizers announced that the second event would be family-friendly and less commercial. The event will last from December 6-21. Planned, among others: Saint zone Santa Claus and Elves and a large entertainment zone with a train and a carousel.
