A new expressway in Poland. Residents of several voivodeships will be happy

Droga ekspresowa

The new Via Pomerania expressway is intended to revolutionize traveling to the Polish seaside.

There are plans to connect Kalisz with Słupsk. Thanks to its length of approximately 400 km and the connection of three voivodeships – Greater Poland, Kuyavian-Pomeranian and Pomeranian – it is expected to contribute to the development of infrastructure and improved communication between regions.

A key road project in Poland

Via Pomerania is a long-awaited expressway that will lead from Kalisz through Konin, Inowrocław, Bydgoszcz and Tuchola, up to Słupsk. The project enjoys wide support both among local governments and members of parliament from various political groups. The route is intended to connect important urban centers and provide more efficient access to the Baltic Sea, which is particularly important in the context of the development of tourism and the economy.

Via Pomerania. Local governments are in favor of this

The implementation of Via Pomerania is of key importance for the development of the regions. The project is supported by, among others: councilors of Bydgoszcz, the Parliament of the Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and the Voivode of Kujawsko-Pomorskie. The road would run through important cities such as Bydgoszcz, Inowrocław and Tuchola.

The Bydgoszcz city council unanimously adopted an appeal supporting the investment, gaining the support of councilors from the coalition of KO-Lewica, Trzecia Droga and Bydgoska Right. Support was also expressed by members of the Parliamentary Team for the Construction of the Expressway, whose chairman was Stanisław Lamczyk from KO.

Why is Via Pomerania important?

The construction of Via Pomerania is of strategic importance not only for the inhabitants of the three voivodeships, but also for the development of defense infrastructure. The road will improve transport between the NATO port in Ustka and military bases in Bydgoszcz, which may be of key importance for defense activities in the region.

In an interview with “Wirtualna Polska”, the chairman of the Parliamentary Team for the Construction of the Expressway emphasized that the investment may start sooner than expected. Currently, talks are underway with the Ministry of Infrastructure and the Ministry of National Defense. The project will soon be discussed at the National Defense Committee.

Next steps in implementation

One of the priorities is to develop a detailed concept that will specify the exact route. A key stage will be the connection of Ustka with Bydgoszcz, which will improve communication with the port and NATO units.

“We are starting the implementation of this project. The road may be built faster than we think,” noted Stanisław Lamczyk, expressing optimism regarding the progress in the implementation of the investment.

Via Pomerania. A new quality of travel

The new expressway will significantly shorten travel time to the Baltic Sea, improving transport comfort and safety. Via Pomerania is an investment that will not only improve traffic between regions, but will also contribute to the development of tourism and the economy. Its implementation is an important step towards modern road infrastructure in Poland.
