A New Dimension of Sound: Beoplay H100 by Bang & Olufsen

Bang & Olufsen sets a new standard in audio with the Beoplay H100, which offers sound quality like you’ve never experienced before. The latest headphones from the Danish manufacturer are a continuation of the iconic H95 model, improved in every way. The Beoplay H100 is a harmonious combination of advanced technology, elegant design and unparalleled functionality.
– Beoplay H100 is a manifesto of our vision of sound for the next ten years. Inspired by the legendary Beolab series, these headphones combine timeless design, innovative technologies and sustainable materials. It is the sound of the future, presented in a perfect, minimalist form, says Bang & Olufsen CEO Kristian Teär.
Unparalleled comfort of use
The Beoplay H100 headphones are made of the highest quality materials to provide users with the best sound quality and exceptional listening comfort, no matter where they are used. The model is equipped with a silky smooth, scratch-resistant touch interface on the side. It is easy to reach, as are the precise dials and buttons placed next to it. The new, detachable inner headband, delicately wrapped in knit fabric, is ergonomically designed to provide ventilation and comfort even during all-day wear. Ear cushions covered with soft lambskin combine perfect listening with tactile pleasure.
The new headphones are available in three timeless colors: Infinite Black, Hourglass Sand and Sunset Apricot. Infinite Black is a nod to Bang & Olufsen’s classic design aesthetic, where deep black leather contrasts with the natural shade of aluminum. Hourglass Sand represents the Scandinavian love of tone-on-tone colors, while Sunset Apricot features a light shade of copper aluminum that subtly contrasts with the leather.
“Combining an immersive sound experience with the highest level of comfort was key for us here,” says Bang & Olufsen’s Head of Design, Tiina Kierysch. “We wanted to use high-quality materials and colours inspired by fine jewellery to create a headphone model that is timeless and sophisticated. We achieved this by combining gleaming aluminium with the softness of lambskin and the coolness of glass,” she adds.
The reference to jewelry elements can also be seen in the design of the case – it is light, leather, luxurious and of course has a very important function. It allows you to safely take your headphones even on the longest journey. When the Beoplay H100 model is outside the case but not in use, it goes into low power mode. In this way, it was possible to extend the standby time of the device to 90 days while maintaining the headphones’ readiness to work immediately after putting them on. In turn, the device stored in the case turns off completely, thanks to which the standby time is up to a year.
Perfection of sound and silence
With custom-made 40mm titanium drivers housed behind elegant aluminium covers, Beoplay H100 delivers Hi-Res sound, tuned by renowned Bang & Olufsen tone masters. The team used their expertise to build on the legendary Beolab 90 speaker.
The effect exceeded our wildest expectations. “Beoplay H100 is the best pair of headphones we’ve ever made. Whether you’re listening to your favorite music, talking on the phone in noisy environments, or controlling the influence of your surroundings with Active Noise Cancellation or Audio Transparency, the H100 always delivers an exceptional experience,” says Bang & Olufsen CTO Neo Kaplanis.
He explains: “To appreciate sound quality, you need silence. In a quiet environment, you will experience how Beoplay H100 effortlessly delivers clarity and dynamic performance previously only known from high-end speakers. When commuting or travelling, you want to be able to control the noise. To achieve this, we have developed an advanced microphone system that ensures crystal clear voices even in the most demanding situations. At the same time, we have doubled the performance of our Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) with Beoplay H95. In addition, we have developed EarSense™ technology, which adapts the sound to the user’s specific sound environment in real time and responds to its conditions,” explains Neo Kaplanis.

Cradle to Cradle Design
Bang & Olufsen’s commitment to creating long-lasting, and therefore durable and repairable, products is particularly evident in the Beoplay H100. The new headphones have been designed based on the principles of “cradle to cradle” production, which the company expects to confirm with an appropriate certificate in 2025.
“We are excited to be bringing Bang & Olufsen’s modular design approach to the portable category for the first time. This is another important step in our commitment to circular economy across our portfolio. With Beoplay H100, we prioritized durability, maintainability and repairability through the modular design of the device. We have also future-proofed our software so that the headphones can adapt and evolve with new technologies. This is what we mean by truly timeless design,” says Mads Kogsgaard Hansen, Head of Product Circularity and Portfolio Planning at Bang & Olufsen.
Innovative solutions that increase the durability of Beoplay H100 headphones include:
-
User-replaceable parts: The areas most exposed to wear are those facing inwards, towards the user. The inner headband and ear cushions are designed to be easily detached and user-replaceable.
-
Easier serviceability: The significantly improved design of the headphones means quick access for the Bang & Olufsen service team to replace key components such as batteries, glass surfaces, drivers and circuit boards, making maintenance easier and extending the lifespan.
-
Evolving software platform: Beoplay H100 marks the beginning of a new Bang & Olufsen software platform for mobile devices, inspired by the existing Mozart platform. The software on Beoplay H100 will be updatable, ensuring that these headphones will not be outdone by new technologies – such as High-Resolution Wireless Audio and 3-Device Multipoint.
-
Up to five-year warranty: simply join Beocare – the Bang & Olufsen extended warranty programme – to cover your headphones with an extended 5-year manufacturer’s warranty.
