A new attraction in the Tatra Mountains. The longest summer toboggan run in Poland

Harenda Zakopane Ski and Recreation Center has announced something new for the summer. On the occasion of the anniversary of putting the chairlift into operation, it will launch another attraction – Harenda Mountain Coaster.

New toboggan run in Zakopane

It is to be “one of the longest gravity slides in Poland and our part of Europe.” If everything goes according to plan, at the end of July passengers will be able to experience an exciting descent down steel gutters with a panoramic view of the Tatra Mountains.

The owners inform that the vehicles are equipped with “the safest available, fully autonomous system that actively controls the speed and distance from the truck in front to prevent collisions and ensure smooth driving.” The ride will also be safe for children.

What’s new is the transport system to the top. Zakopane Nasza Miasto informs that passengers will use the chairlift for this purpose. The couches that normally carry skiers, tourists, and in summer also bicycles, have been adapted to transport slide trolleys. Tourists will first go to the very top by traditional railway, and then the descent will begin.

The new attraction will operate in the summer. The slide is designed to be dismantled before winter arrives. Moreover, in the summer season, after taking the chairlift to the top, you can start walking along the asphalt path (about 45 minutes on foot) to Gubałówka and relax on the beach there, or further to Butorowy or Szymaszkowa.

A new slide also in the Beskids

Tourists planning a stay in the Beskids will find a similar, year-round gravity slide there. The Salamandra Alpine Coaster started in the Szczyrk Mountain Resort complex in July. The gravity slide on the picturesque Hala Skrzyczeńska will be open all year round. Guests can expect two ride towers, 12 and 15 meters high, and the cable car can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h.
