A mysterious decision in Tychy. Stellantis gives up the assembly of a popular car

The production of the electric T03 model in Tychy was suspended. Stellantis does not reveal the reasons or plans for the future of the vehicle.
The assembly of the Chinese electric car T03 was completed at the Stellantis plant in Tychy. This information was confirmed by Agnieszka Brania, spokeswoman for Stellantis factories in Poland, in an interview with tvn24.pl. The production of a Leapmotor vehicle was detained on March 30, 2025. However, the company does not reveal whether it plans to transfer production to another location or what influenced the decision to suspend it.

According to reports of the Reuters agency, citing a person oriented in the case, Stellantis does not intend to resume the production of the T03 model on the European market. Plans assume a transition to a new series of models – the so -called A series A – whose production outside China would start in 2026. Earlier, the concern also resigned from the construction of the second Leapmotor model in Poland – the electric B10 crossover.
This decision was made shortly after the China government ordered electric car manufacturers to limit investments in selected European countries. Such information is also confirmed by the correspondence of one of the Chinese companies with the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, to which the Money.pl portal reached. It shows that Leapmotor decided to withdraw from planned investment projects in Poland after our country supported the European Union’s proposal regarding the imposition of additional duties on Chinese electric cars.
Cars from China
Leapmotor is a manufacturer of electric cars from China, which entered the European market in cooperation with the Stellantis group. In a joint -venure company called Leapmotor International Stellantis has 51 percent. shares. Earlier, in 2023, Stellantis withdrew from the Chinese market, selling all his plants in this country.
The T03 model was produced at the Tychy factory, where previously created, among others Fiat 500. Full production began on October 16, 2024, in parallel with the premiere of the brand at the Paris Motor Show.
