We informed a few days ago that the match in Lublin arouses great interest among fans. The Globus Hall will be bursting at the seams, and looking at the squads of both teams, there may be a rivalry between Wilfredo Leon and Bartosz Kurek. And it’s really hard to find better volleyball advertising in Poland.

PlusLiga: Bartosz Kurek will play in the hit against Bogdanka LUK Lublin?

The captain of the Polish national team unfortunately began his adventure with PlusLiga again. After several years of playing in the Japanese league, Kurek decided to return to his hometown, to ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle. The attacker became the team captain, but unfortunately, he suffered an injury in the first round of the season. An unfortunate event, because Kurek was hit by the ball in the eye area after it bounced off the court.

The experienced volleyball player suffered an injury on September 14 in an away match against PGE Projekt Warszawa. Since then, Kurek has not appeared on the pitch in an official match. The role of the first attacker in ZAKSA’s colors was successfully taken over by an absolute debutant in the national elite, Mateusz Rećko. The MVP of the previous season began to show his extraordinary skills at the back of PlusLiga without any complexes.

And when can we expect Kurek to return to the game? In recent weeks, there have been more and more positive signals regarding the volleyball player’s health. The attacker trained with the team and also appeared, although still “behind the band” (i.e. off the pitch), at matches. It is possible that in the hit match against Bogdanka LUK, “Kuraś” will again be at the disposal of ZAKSA coach Andrea Giani.

It is worth noting that after seven rounds, Bogdanka LUK has not found an opponent who would beat it. The team played at the beginning of the season without Wilfredo Leon, who was starting to play after health problems. Having a receiver in their ranks, the team from Lublin is very dangerous for everyone.

In the defeated field, Bogdanka LUK has already left, among others, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie (win 3:2 away), PGE GiEK Skra Bełchatów (3:0 at home) or Asseco Resovia Rzeszów (3:1 at home). On the horizon, apart from the match against ZAKSA (Wednesday, October 23, 8:30 p.m.), the team from Lublin has a trip to Warsaw. The match against PGE Projekt (Saturday, October 26, 2:45 p.m.) will be the hit of this stage of the PlusLiga competition.
