A legendary journalist is dead. A huge loss for Polish sport

Information about the death of a legendary sports journalist appeared on Monday, early afternoon.

– On Monday, January 27 in the morning, Maciej Petruczenko died in one of Warsaw’s hospitals. An outstanding journalist, longtime journalist of Przegląd Sportowy, honorary editor -in -chief of our newspaper. Very sad information was given to us by the daughter of our editorial colleague – he told “Przegląd Sportowy” and Onet on his website, in the text by Kamil Drąg.

Petruczenko is a great figure, for over half a century associated with “Przegląd Sportowy”. In 2021, the regularly publishing journalist was awarded the title of honorary editor -in -chief of the only nationwide sports journal.

He had many awards and awards. In 2020 he became a laureate of the Special Award Bohdan Tomaszewski. Petruczenko received the distinction during the Grand Press final gala. In addition, in 2021 he was awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta.

Maciej Petruczenko died at the age of 78.
