A great opening of the season for Polish volleyball players. Significant change in result

Second match and second victory. After winning over the Belgians (3:2), the Polish national volleyball team defeated the Czechs (3:0) on Thursday (June 4) morning.

Coach Stefano Lavarini will certainly be looking for new solutions in the 2026 season, looking at the personnel. There were several changes in the Polish national volleyball team. There are many absences due to health or non-sports decisions.

The latter group includes, for example, the end of her career, which was officially announced by Agnieszka Korneluk a few weeks ago. So one of the best midfielders in the world, former captain of the national team.

Nations League: Polish women with their second victory! The Czechs were defeated to zero

The Italian coach must therefore look for new solutions. This can be seen after the tournament, which began in earnest on Wednesday (June 3) for Polish volleyball players. The Polish women’s first competition in this year’s Nations League was in Nanjing, China. The Polish volleyball players started with a victory, although not without problems, against the Belgians.

The heroine of the five-set battle was Julia Szczurowska. In her official debut, in a competitive match, she scored as many as 25 points.

However, as is the case when building a new team or searching for new characters, one day one player may shine and another player may shine the next. The above-mentioned Szczurowska was not as effective in the competition against the Czechs on Thursday (i.e. June 4). The team’s leaders had to be looked for among the receivers.

Both Martyna Łukasik (15 points) and Monika Lampkowska (formerly Fedusio, 13 points) contributed a lot to coach Lavarini’s team. Oliwia Sieradzka made a nice change in attack, replacing Szczurowska and scoring 10 points. Although both attackers in the Polish team could not reach the pitch, the Czechs were well prepared to work defensively.

However, two matches and two victories are a solid opening of VNL 2026 for the Polish women. The next test is on Friday (i.e. June 5). This time the shelf goes higher, because the Serbs will be on the other side of the net. The meeting starts at 1:30 p.m.
