A giant to the rescue of the current Polish champion. The club stood on the precipice

The news about the new sponsor was announced in a special announcement on Monday (December 2). Orlen became a strategic partner of LOTTO Chemika. A team that stood on the precipice between seasons due to the problems of Grupa Azoty. A similar scenario affected the men’s ZAKSA Kędzierzyn-Koźle.

Interestingly, in both cases the same sponsor came to the rescue. Orlen decided to support both the recent three-time winners of the Champions League (2021-23) from Kędzierzyn-Koźle, as well as Chemik, a tycoon in the country – and has been doing so for many years.

– For many years, ORLEN has been actively involved in the development of Polish volleyball. Cooperation with the Chemik Police team fits into our goals and I believe that it will bring tangible benefits not only to the club, but also to the entire community of this discipline in Poland. Our support is intended to enable the team to develop sports and achieve further successes – admitted Lidia Kołucka, Executive Director for Sponsorship of Orlen.

After major personnel changes and having to say goodbye to the best players, the team from Police is on a sports precipice this season. The Policzanka team has 10 points, taking ninth place in the twelve-team field. So far, in ten matches, the team has won three matches, leaving the field as the defeated team six times. Chemik is only four points ahead of the relegation place. It must be admitted that this is a situation that has not been seen in Police for many years.

ORLEN has been actively supporting Polish volleyball for years, and cooperation with Chemik is another step towards this – said Radosław Głos, president of the club.

The well-deserved place for Polish volleyball has gained important support. Orlen on board is probably an important signal in the context of the present, but also a more stable future.

As we read in the announcement, the company’s logo will be visible on the visual elements of Chemik, including match uniforms, the dance floor, LED bands, printed materials, as well as on the multimedia cube and in interview zones.

A strong foursome definitely leads the Tauron League

In the current season, when there are no volleyball players from Police at the top, the league table is arranged in such a way that a strong four are at the top. After ten rounds, the leaders are the players of ŁKS Commercecon Łódź, who have accumulated 25 points (8 wins and 2 losses). The runners-up are the DevelopRes Rzeszów team, with 26 points (9 wins and one loss). In third place was PGE Grot Budowlani Łódź – 22 points (7:1), and in fourth place was BKS BOSTIK ZGO Bielsko-Biała, 21 points, balance 7:1.

In the case of the clubs from Bielsko-Biała and Budowlani Łódź, both teams have two outstanding matches to play – compared to the rest of the group. This may cause changes in the headlamp layout. However, this does not change the fact that #VolleyWrocław, which is in fifth place, is eight points behind fourth place.
