A fisherman from Poland caught a huge fish. “My heart was pounding!”
An angler from Podkarpacie caught a huge brown trout. The fish was the length of a human limb.
Grzegorz Bereżański beat his personal record. A fishing enthusiast who lives near Lake Myczkowieckie went to the mentioned water reservoir at the end of March this year to use the spinning method (which involves constantly casting and retrieving the bait) to hunt the largest possible trout (Salmo trutta mannelis fario).
And he succeeded – he caught a “gold medal” specimen.
He didn’t have a bigger trout in his hands. The fisherman did not hide his surprise when this large fish grabbed the hook of his fishing rod

At first the fish weren’t biting, but at some point he spotted a huge trout. “It was huge – I’ve never seen one like it in my life! It swam along the shore, moving its fins majestically,” he pointed out. Then he carefully, gently, threw the rubber bait towards it. “After I started to guide it with small jumps, I felt a hit on the stick. I instinctively hooked it – and there it was! From the very beginning I knew that I was dealing with the largest trout I had ever caught. My heart was beating like a hammer with emotion! The fish was going crazy, I had a hard time stopping its attacks,” he admitted.
He fought with the specimen – the task was not easy. “During the fight, there were plenty of candles and grinders, as befits a trout. During the jumps, I could admire its huge body time and time again. I was trembling for fear whether the set would hold, but fortunately, during the subsequent grinds, the trout got tangled in the braid and got into the landing net without any major problems. Only then could I breathe a sigh of relief,” he noted.
Afterwards, the specimen returned to the water. How much did he measure?
How long was Salmo trutta m. fario? As much as 67 cm! It’s almost as long as a human hand. “These are my personal bests. It’s hard to describe what I felt at that moment – adrenaline was pumping through me all the time,” he pointed out.
The enthusiast took a few photos with the fish and then released it back into the lake.
