A festive celebration is coming in one of the Polish cities. Locals and tourists will be able to enjoy the charming view. Sheep with shepherds will steal everyone’s hearts.
The event in question is the autumn sheep redyk, which will take place in Szczawnica. This small town in the mountains has been attracting tourists for many years for many reasons. The area is known as a health resort located on the Grajcarek stream, on the border of the Pieniny Mountains and the Beskid Sądecki Mountains. It’s about to get particularly interesting there.
Redyk sheep in Szczawnica
Redyk is a ceremonial outing of shepherds with flocks of sheep to graze in the mountain pastures. It can take place both in spring and autumn. Now it’s time for the second such event this year. The creators of the profile called @poranawycieczke reminded us about everything on Instagram. They are followed by over 246,000 people. people and regularly inform about interesting travel events and magical places. Now they turned their attention to Szczawnica.
“Have you ever seen redyk live?” – they ask on their social media profile. They noticed that the sheep farm attracts thousands of tourists to the town every year and is something unique. “Shepherds with juhas will lead hundreds of sheep through the city center and then to the farms where the sheep spend the winter. They will return to the arena only in the spring,” emphasizes the couple from @poranawycieczke.
The autumn festival in Szczawnica will last for two days this year, from October 11 to 12. A detailed schedule of the event will soon appear on the organizer’s website. The sheep march takes place mainly in the afternoon.
