The train collision took place in the popular Algarve region in Portugal. At the time of the collision, 50 people rode them, a dozen or so were slightly injured.

It was supposed to be a carefree ride on a popular tourist train, but it ended with the intervention of services and dressing wounds at travelers. On September 16, there was a collision of trains in the Portuguese resort of Tavira, on the section between Pedras d’El Rei and Barril beach in the Algarve region. At the time of the incident, 50 people were to go with them.

“It was a collision of tourist trains carrying passengers to the beach behind Ria Formosa in Tavira. They rode on the tracks and passed halfway. The intersection missed, and the collision came just at its beginning – one train hit the back of the other” – explained Hugo Machado, commander of the fire brigade in Tavir. He added that such incidents usually do not happen there.

16 people required first aid, and four were slightly injured. The CMJORNANY.PL portal reported that the officers of the fire brigade from Tavira and Olhão and the National Emergency Department (INEM) provided the victims on the spot. Of the people who were provided, only one required further medical care. After hitting, she complained about pain in the neck area. It was initially informed that among the victims there were six England citizens, six from Brazil and two people from Germany.

The victims were provided with psychological support. The services will check if the tracks have been damaged.
