A call from the bank? Be careful! Fraudsters are hunting your account
ING Bank Śląski warns: fraudsters impersonate a bank and want cards and phones “for security”. Be especially vigilant.
On October 27, 2025, ING Bank Śląski issued an urgent announcement regarding a new wave of frauds. Criminals call customers, present themselves as bank employees and inform about the alleged threat to funds. The goal is to take over access to the account and clear the account – under the guise of “securing” the money, they try to force the issuance of a payment card or phone.
Operational diagram
The pattern of action is simple, but extremely dangerous. First, there is a call from the alleged consultant with information about an unauthorized transfer, an attempt to take out a loan or another incident on the account. Then the fraudster offers “technical assistance”: he asks for the card or phone to be handed over to a courier who will supposedly secure it. In fact, such a step means losing control over the account and a high risk of losing all your funds.
The bank clearly emphasizes: no login details, PIN codes, devices or cards may be transferred to third parties. ING Bank Śląski does not ask customers to issue cards, telephones or reveal passwords under any pretext. Each such request is a warning signal and a reason to immediately stop the conversation.
How to recognize a fraud attempt? Usually, the conversation is accompanied by time pressure – “immediate verification”, “urgent security”, “last chance to save the funds”. This tone is intended to force quick action and discourage verification. Scammers may provide details to add credibility, but you should always confirm the identity of the caller yourself.
Bank recommendations
The bank’s recommendations are clear. First, do not take any action during an unexpected call – do not provide data, do not install software, do not hand over devices or cards. Secondly, verify the caller by calling the official ING Bank Śląski hotline number. Thirdly, stay calm and do not give in to pressure – this is the most common tactic of criminals to “turn off” caution.
If you suspect that fraud may have occurred, please contact your bank immediately through official channels and follow the consultant’s instructions. A quick response helps block access to the account and limit possible losses. Remember: a real bank employee will not ask for a card, phone number, login details or authorization codes – this information and items are only for you.
ING Bank Śląski appeals to all customers to be more cautious. Any unusual request made over the phone should make you alert. Awareness of threats and consistent verification is the most effective shield against losing money.
