PlusLiga: Mateusz Poręba show during the ZAKSA – Cuprum Stilon match
The hosts’ center scored a total of 19 points. This is a record performance by the 25-year-old volleyball player, who has represented ZAKSA since the 2024/25 season. Previously, Poręba was a player of the club from Kędzierzyn-Koźle, but he was on loan in Bełchatów.
In the match against coach Andrzej Kowal’s team, the center showed great sportsmanship. Just look at the statistics. The above-mentioned 19 points are Poręba’s points record at the PlusLiga level. The center attacked 18 times, with an efficiency of 84 percent. He also added four point blocks, three intercepts and four defenses. – We achieved our goal for this match. I can be happy with my team that at the beginning of the first set, when we were not doing very well, we returned to this game. There was a very big advantage for the team from Gorzów, but we came back and won this set. Then problems appeared in the third game. We missed some balls that can irritate the players on the pitch. It was visible. But in the fourth set we came out recharged and achieved what we wanted to do – admitted the MVP of the match after Tuesday’s win.
Bartosz Kurek still without returning to the pitch
Poręba, together with Igor Grobelny, the ZAKSA player, were the best scoring volleyball players of the match. The club from Kędzierzyn-Koźle still misses Bartosz Kurek on the pitch. The attacker suffered an injury in the first round of the season and although he is training, he is still not fully ready to compete for league points.
ZAKSA is doing quite well without Kurek. Thanks to the win on Tuesday, the Kędzierzyn team advanced to fourth place in the PlusLiga table. ZAKSA has, among others, behind its back. vice-champions of the country, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie.
What does the league podium look like? PGE Projekt Warszawa in the lead, Bogdanka LUK Lublin in second place and the champions, Jastrzębski Węgiel – in third place.
