Orlen

Orlen phases out the PGNiG brand and creates MyOrlen – a new umbrella for retail in Poland and abroad.

The PGNiG sign will soon disappear from the market – according to the findings of “Business Insider Polska”. Orlen decided to build a new brand that will integrate retail areas of operations in the country and on foreign markets. This is another step after the earlier withdrawal of the Lotos banner and an element of broader consolidation of the group.

Rebranding at Orlen

According to information provided on Monday, the rebranding is expected to start in early 2026. The integration of entities responsible for retail sales within Orlen will be spread over time and may last until 2027. During an internal meeting, the company’s authorities announced in a special recording addressed to employees that the PGNiG brand will cease to exist and be replaced by Orlen. The company’s president, Ireneusz Fąfara, was to personally inform about the plans.

The key element of the changes will be the creation of a new entity – MyOrlen – on the basis of PGNiG Obrót Detaliczny, which handles gas sales to approximately 7 million customers throughout the country. According to a meeting participant, MyOrlen will employ approximately 35,000 people. people and become the second largest company in the group. The new brand is to focus all Orlen’s retail businesses, not only in Poland, but also on foreign markets. In total, there are a dozen or so companies operating on seven markets.

The “BI” interlocutor clarified that MyOrlen will be the name for the entire retail segment, including: fuel sales, integrated gas and energy offer, sales at gas stations and electromobility services. In practice, this also means a change in signage at contact points – customer service centers previously operating under the PGNiG brand are to receive a new MyOrlen logo.

Acquisition of PGNiG

PGNiG – Polish Oil and Gas Mining – operated independently in the years 1982–2022. The company was engaged in the exploration and extraction of gas and oil, gas imports, and the sale and distribution of fuels, heat and energy. It operated mainly in Poland, and for over two decades also abroad, including: in Pakistan (exploration and production segment), Norway and the United Arab Emirates, where it holds a license. Until 2022, it was listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

The former president of the PLN concern, Daniel Obajtek, sought to merge PGNiG with Orlen, promoting the concept of building a multi-energy company. “Business Insider” reminds that last year Orlen withdrew the PGNiG brand from the mining area. The assets of Orlen, PGNiG and Lotos were consolidated under the common banner of Orlen Upstream Polska. Now the course to unify the brand includes retail – with MyOrlen as the new showcase of the customer segment in the country and abroad.
