A big change in Karol Nawrocki’s fortune. There is a new entry in the land and mortgage register
Until recently, the president and the first lady owned a 30-square-meter studio apartment, which they bought eight years ago from a senior citizen from Gdańsk. However, the land and mortgage register of real estate has been updated – now the section informing the owners does not include someone’s name and surname, but the name of the Christian association. Is this the end of the famous scandal?
The so-called The housing scandal, revealed during the 2025 election campaign, was one of the hottest issues. Public opinion lived with it for weeks. Let us remind you that years ago Karol Nawrocki bought a small premises from an (now) 80-year-old resident of the capital of Pomerania. The senior agreed to hand it over to the president, but on the condition that the new owners of the apartment would take care of it until the grave. He could also occupy the apartment until his death, but – as it turned out – he would no longer stay there for a long time. The employees of the social welfare home were supposed to take care of his well-being.
Karol Nawrocki denied the media reports from the beginning – he assured that he had been helping for years and was constantly interested in the fate of the 80-year-old.
At some point, together with his wife, he decided to donate the studio apartment to charity. The future president and first lady indicated one of the associations that was to soon take over the apartment. The name of the Christian entity already appears in the land and mortgage register.
The Nawrocki family no longer owns the studio apartment in Gdańsk. Is this the end of the loud scandal that broke out during the 2025 election campaign?
“Fakt” contacted a representative of the organization – the Christian Charitable Association – to talk about the details of the case. Before we move on to them, it is worth taking a look at the entity – what does ChsD in Gdynia actually do? As we can read on the official website, he provides, among others: helping the homeless struggling with addiction or helping socially excluded people return to professional activity.
Katarzyna Palmowska – member of the ChsD management board – informed the daily that “cleaning works are currently being carried out” in the apartment. – Renovation is planned later so that it will be possible to provide shelter to a woman in crisis with her child – she said.
The association is in constant contact with the DPS, where the 80-year-old is a resident. He will be able to return to his apartment as soon as his health situation improves.
