It is not as recognizable as the Podhale villages, but it offers peace and a base for mountain hikes. Tabaszowa will delight tourists looking for peace.
Małopolska is not only Krakow and the picturesque Krakow-Częstochowa upland. Here you will also find quiet towns for a quiet holiday and a weekend trip. The village of Tabaszowa is little known, but beautifully situated on a peninsula cutting through the reservoir of Lake Różnowskie. Tourists can stay here at the camping site.
Tabaszowa. Countryside for a quiet weekend
A characteristic point of the village is the historic wooden church of St. Nicholas from 1753. It was moved here in 1982 from Tęgoborza in the Łososina Dolna commune. A few years later, Tabaszowa became an independent parish, separated from the Tęgoborze parish.
Right next to the wooden temple, you can go for a walk along the blue tourist trail from Rożnów through Tabaszowa, Znamirowice, Just, Rojówka and Skrzętla to the Jaworz Mountain (921 m above sea level). It is the highest peak of the Łososiński Range in the Wyspowy Beskids.
You can also go from here to Ostra Góra (483 m above sea level), a ridge between the western shores of Lake Rożnowskie and the Łososina valley. The northernmost peak is Ostra Góra Północna (456 m), which rises above the dam of the Rożnów hydroelectric power plant.
Lake Rożnowskie is regaining its splendor
After years of oblivion, tourist traffic is reviving at Lake Różnowskie. The surrounding towns offer numerous beaches, marinas, recreation centers and sightseeing opportunities. The place was also recommended by culinary critic Robert Makłowicz.
“Gazeta Krakowska” reported that beautiful views around the lake attract more and more investors. Local governments also became interested in the development of local infrastructure. “Last year, residents and tourists gained a new, publicly accessible beach on the lake. The plans of the Gródek nad Dunajcem commune also include the construction of a walking bridge leading towards Monkey Island,” we read.
