A beautiful gesture of the Polish national volleyball team. They encourage strong support!

It is no secret that the Polish national volleyball team has been cooperating with the Herosi Foundation for years. What kind of foundation is this? The goal was best described by those interested themselves via the official website.

We were established to provide every child with access to the most modern and best oncological treatment in Poland. We are driven by the belief that with regular support from donors, we can significantly improve the medical care of young patients. That is why, since 2009, we have been collecting funds for innovative medical equipment, medicines, chemicals, and for a better life for children in the ward. And that’s why we are with the little ones, bringing them some joy and fueling hope for a better future.

Polish volleyball players support the Herosi Foundation. An important gesture during training

Coach Nikola Grbic’s team wore characteristic golden bows during training on Friday (September 11) during the European Championship 2026. This is an important symbol, especially in September.

– Our team has been supporting the Herosi Foundation for several years. September is World Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. These golden bows are a symbol of this campaign. That’s why we had them, today at training we wanted to support this action in this way (…) You also support and we fight together – said Marcin Komenda.

– I encourage all volleyball fans and all people who watch this material to support foundations that raise money for children to fight cancer – added Aleksander Śliwka, captain of the Polish team.

ME 2026: The Polish national team defends the title. Where and when to watch Polish matches?

It is worth recalling that Poland has won gold in the European Men’s Volleyball Championship twice in its history. Interestingly, in both cases we are talking about successes achieved in the 21st century. Poles won their first title in 2009. The second one, relatively recently, in the previous edition of the Old Continent championship, i.e. AD 2023 – in the final, defeating the Italians in three sets.

When will Polish volleyball players play the next matches of the European Championship 2026?

• Saturday (12/09), 3:00 p.m., Poland – Israel

• Sunday (13/09), 6:00 p.m., Poland – Macedonia

• Tuesday (15/09), 6:00 p.m., Poland – Ukraine

• Wednesday (16/09), 6:00 p.m., Bulgaria – Poland

The best four teams from each group at the tournament will advance to the 1/8 finals. Poles play their matches in Bulgaria, more specifically in Sofia. A sports hall of particular importance for Polish volleyball. In 2012, Poland won the World League finals in Sofia – in exactly the same facility.
