800 plus after the birth of the child. This is how much time parents have for formalities

At the beginning of June, a new benefit period of 800 plus began. For parents and guardians, this involves the need to submit a new application for benefits.

The latest data provided by the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) shows that nearly 6 million children received 800 plus for the new benefit period, and almost PLN 5 billion was transferred to the accounts of parents and guardians.

– Over 5.9 million children have already received 800 plus for the new benefit period, which started in June. Over PLN 4.7 billion was transferred to the accounts of parents and guardians – we read in the announcement published by ZUS.

Data provided to “Wprost” by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy show that approximately 6.7 million children are currently entitled to receive 800 plus. This means that the vast majority of parents and guardians applied for 800 plus under the new benefit period. People who have not done so yet will lose money for June.

– You will receive the money from the month in which you submitted your application – ZUS emphasizes.

The exception are parents of newborns. ZUS reminds that they have “three full months from the day the baby is born” to submit the documents.

Let us remind you that applications for 800 plus can only be submitted electronically via:

• eZUS platform,

• mZUS application,

• Emp@tia portal or

• electronic banking.

The current 800 plus benefit period will end at the end of May 2027. Everything indicates that next year you will no longer have to remember to submit an application for 800 plus for the new settlement period. The Ministry of Family is working on regulations under which the right to 800 plus will be extended annually on the basis of data available to ZUS. According to the assumptions, the parent or guardian will still have to submit an application, but only for the first time for a given child.
