Individual local governments offer support programs for seniors. One of them is the “Senior Islander Voucher” prepared for people over 65 years of age.

Who can apply for a voucher?

“Bon Wyspiarza Seniora” is a one-off financial aid for the residents of Świnoujście. It is financed by the city budget. According to Gazeta.pl, residents of the city who turn 65 this year can count on financial support. There are more conditions – you must be a resident of Świnoujście for at least five years. Importantly, the program can be used by people without registration. However, you must confirm your residence in the city for the required period.

The voucher is intended to help with everyday expenses. This includes basic needs, shopping and medicines.

Applications for the benefit can be submitted from March 2 this year. The documents are accepted by the Municipal Family Assistance Center in Świnoujście, which is responsible for managing the program and verifying applications. Recently, the amount of the voucher has increased to PLN 400.

– So far, the voucher amounted to PLN 350. Now it’s time for revaluation. The Municipal Family Assistance Center will be responsible for developing procedures and ensuring that the application process runs smoothly and that the funds are then disbursed smoothly. We want most of the money to reach seniors’ accounts by mid-year – said Wojciech Basałygo from the Municipal Office in Świnoujście in an interview with Radio Szczecin.

After the documents are positively verified, the money is transferred to the senior’s account within three months. Withdrawal is only made by bank transfer. In this case, no administrative decision is issued, which allows the money to be transferred to authorized persons faster.
