Valorization of 800 plus up to PLN 1600, but only for the first child was proposed in TOK FM Polish MP 2050 Norbert Pietrykowski. The politician argues that this would not be a big cost for the state budget.

In April next year, 10 years will pass since the introduction of 500 plus. It was one of the main promises of Law and Justice before the parliamentary elections in 2015. Initially, the benefit was in force for the second and subsequent child. Before the next election in 2019, the program was also extended to the first child, and four years later – in the campaign before the next election – the valorisation of the benefit up to PLN 800 was announced. Valorization has been in force since the beginning of 2024, and the program is continued by a new ruling team. Every now and then there are reports according to which “Coalition October 15” would make changes to 800 plus.

Changes in 800 plus? A surprising proposal

The change was proposed by MP of Koalition Poland 2050 Norbert Pietrykowski. In an interview with TOK FM, the politician stated that PLN 1,600 should apply, but only for the first child. Pietrykowski argued that “it will not be a cost for the budget” because children are decreasing.

They just turn 18 and fall out of the 800 plus program. And new ones are born little. We are on the third place in Europe from the end of fertility. Malta is in the first place, Ukraine in the war in the war. And on the third – said Polish MP 2050.

This proposal is to encourage children. – This first child is a breakthrough child, everything in the lives of both women and man changes. I think it is probably one of the most difficult and important decisions in human life. So you have to encourage that this moment of breaking occurs – summed up to Tok FM.

It is not known how the politicians of other coalition groups will refer to this proposal. In a recent interview with Radio ZET, Agnieszka Dziemianowicz-Bąk, the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy, said that there are not planned changes regarding the possible valorisation of 800 plus. – There are no work on 800 plus. Neither liquidation nor any reforms – The head of the family ministry said.
