On the Village Head’s Day, Minister of Agriculture Stefan Krajewski announced the launch of a new program for farmers – “Active Village” with a budget of PLN 10 million. Applications can be submitted to the ministry from March 30, 2026 for one month.

– This is co-financing of up to PLN 15,000 for projects that will be part of activities in the field of culture, tradition, identity, local products, ecology and rural safety. All this can be co-financed from this program – explained Stefan Krajewski.

A new government program for farmers and local allotments

The government funding will primarily benefit rural women’s associations, firefighters from volunteer fire brigades and local activists.

– Support will be provided so that you can integrate local communities even more, finance and co-finance these activities that are extremely important. Because apart from the fact that we meet to celebrate sometimes, whether it is a harvest festival, a town festival, or the promotion of a local product, it is also worth enriching it with a preventive component and getting checked out, because health is the most important thing and we should use it wisely, said Minister Stefan Krajewski.

Regional food and farmers’ safety

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, co-financing covers, among others: events related to the culture, tradition and identity of the village (e.g. presentations of folk rituals, band performances or handicraft shows), initiatives promoting local products and regional food, culinary workshops or festivals of local products, and activities related to the ecology and safety of the countryside, including first aid training and educational activities.

The projects will be assessed by a special commission established at the Ministry of Agriculture. Offers can be submitted electronically or in paper form on the forms available on the ministry’s website.

The offers are scheduled to be considered by May 15, 2026, and selected initiatives can be implemented between April 30 and October 31, 2026. If the program proves successful in practice, its budget may be increased in the following years.
