Payments of this year’s 14th pensions start tomorrow. According to the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS), everyone entitled to the benefit will receive it together with their pension or disability pension for September.

Data provided by ZUS show that approx. 616 thousand retirees and pensioners will receive the “fourteen” on the first possible date, i.e. on September 1. Of course, this applies to people whose benefit payment deadline falls on the 1st day of the month. It is estimated that the first tranche of payments will total over PLN 913 million gross.

The next 14th pension payments will take place: September 6, 10, 15, 20 and 25. People who receive pre-retirement benefits will receive the “fourteenth pension” by October 1.

This year, the full amount of the benefit is PLN 1,978.49 gross, i.e. the minimum pension. As noted by Dziennik Gazeta Prawna, people with the lowest benefit will receive almost PLN 4,000 gross in September. The net amount will be lower because health insurance contributions and income tax advances may be collected from the “fourteen year old”.

ZUS data shows that in 2025, 165.6 thousand people received the minimum pension (then it was PLN 1,878.91 gross). people, which constituted approximately 2.6%. people receiving a pension from ZUS.

It is worth recalling that the 14th pension in the amount of the lowest benefit will be awarded to people whose pension or disability pension does not exceed PLN 2,900. Above this amount, the “PLN for PLN” principle applies. – For example, a person with a pension of PLN 3,000 will receive a pension reduced by PLN 100, i.e. PLN 1,878.49 gross – explains ZUS.

In practice, people whose pension exceeds PLN 4,828.49 gross will not be eligible for the benefit. The “Fourteenth” benefit is also not available to persons whose entitlement to a pension or disability pension is suspended on the day preceding the month of payment.

ZUS data shows that last year almost 6.5 million people received their 14th pension. A total of PLN 7.6 billion net went to those entitled to it.

The 14th pension is paid in Poland from 2021.
