14. pension. Important ZUS announcement regarding payments
ZUS has published an important announcement regarding the payment of the 14th pension. The benefit will be sent in September, but some retirees will receive it in August. ZUS also reminded that not all retirees will receive the additional benefit.
The Social Insurance Institution has announced that most transfers will be sent in September, together with the basic pension. However, some seniors will enjoy their 14th pension in August. This results from the principle that if the payment day falls on a day off from work, ZUS orders the transfer earlier. In September 2024, the first pension payment date falls on a Sunday, which will postpone the sending of money to August.
When is the 14th pension paid?
The 14th pension payment dates fall on these days in September:
-
1st of the month – Sunday (early payment on Friday, August 30th).
-
5th day of the month – Thursday,
-
6th day of the month – Friday,
-
10th day of the month – Tuesday,
-
15th day of the month – Sunday (earlier payment on Friday, September 13th),
-
20th day of the month – Friday,
-
25th day of the month – Wednesday.
ZUS estimates that around 8.9 million retirees and pensioners will receive their 14th pension this year. Among them, 6.4 million people will receive the full amount (the lowest pension of PLN 1,780.96), and 2.5 million people will receive a lower amount, which results from the basic pension exceeding the value of PLN 2,900.
How much will the 14th pension be?
The full benefit of PLN 1,780.96 gross (PLN 1,492.67 net) will be received by people whose pension does not exceed PLN 2,900 gross. The benefit will be gradually reduced for people receiving higher pensions, and the minimum amount of the fourteenth pension must be at least PLN 50 to be paid.
Only the health insurance contribution and the income tax advance payment will be deducted from this additional payment.
“Around 8.9 million pensioners and retirees will receive the fourteenth benefit. Of these, 6.4 million will receive the full amount, while 2.5 million will be entitled to a lower payment,” the Chancellery of the Prime Minister informed.
