1000 plus before the elections? The Minister of Finance spoke
Will there be any changes to the 800 plus benefit, as is tradition, before the parliamentary elections? The Minister of Finance made a clear declaration on this matter.
In April this year 10 years have passed since the introduction of 500 plus. The introduction of this benefit was a flagship promise of Law and Justice before the parliamentary elections in 2015. During subsequent elections to the Sejm and Senate, important changes took place in this program. In 2019, it was extended to the first child (previously, families with one child were subject to an income threshold), and before the last elections, an indexation of up to PLN 800 was announced (it came into force at the beginning of 2024).

The next elections will be held in a year. So can we expect further changes and 800 plus will be increased to PLN 1,000? This question was heard today on Radio Zet by the Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański. – NO – the head of the Ministry of Finance and Economy replied briefly in the program “Guest of Radio Zet”.
There will be no indexation of 800 plus, but next year there will be another change regarding this benefit, which will certainly please the parents who receive it. The Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy announced that from the next benefit period (starting in mid-2027), once submitted application for 800 plus will be automatically renewed, which means that there will be no need to submit the documents again. Deputy head of the ministry Sebastian Gajewski said in an interview for Radio Zet that the draft law on this matter is ready and has passed the government legislative process.
Everything indicates that there will be no changes to the “Dobry Start” program before next year’s parliamentary elections. It provides for subsidies for school supplies in the amount of PLN 300 (hence its common name 300 plus).
The benefit, which has been in operation since 2018 – unlike 500 plus – has not been indexed so far and, as the position of the Ministry of Family shows, this is not to be expected for now. – Currently, the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy is not working on changing the amount of the Good Start benefit – The press office of the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy told “Wprost”.
