In April this year the average salary in the enterprise sector was PLN 9,530.74. That’s 5.4 percent. more than a year ago, and at the same time by 1.3 percent. less than in March.
Data presented on Thursday by the Central Statistical Office (GUS) shows that the average gross salary in the enterprise sector in April this year was PLN 9,530.74 gross. This is an increase of 5.4%. compared to the same period in 2025. – The average monthly gross salary in the enterprise sector in April 2026 was 5.4% higher than in April 2025. – the Central Statistical Office reported.
Salaries in April. Why the decline compared to March?
The office also reported that the average monthly gross salary in the enterprise sector was lower by 1.3% compared to March. This means that in the previous month Poles earned more than in April last year, but less than the month before.
Let us recall that a month ago the average salary in the enterprise sector was PLN 9,652.19, which was a new record (the previous record of PLN 9,583 was recorded in December last year). The Central Statistical Office indicates that the decrease in the average monthly salary in April compared to the previous month was caused by the lack or smaller scale of additional payments that occurred in March, including: awards, bonuses and bonuses, including quarterly, annual and holiday bonuses, which, in addition to basic salaries, are also included in the remuneration components.
It is also worth emphasizing that April was another month in which price increases significantly exceeded the pace of price increases. Let us recall that consumer inflation in April amounted to 3.2%.
The Central Statistical Office also announced that in April the average employment in the enterprise sector amounted to 6,386.4 thousand. full-time positions, which means a decrease of 0.9%. in relation to the same period in 2025.
The data presented by the Central Statistical Office concern entities from the enterprise sector, which is part of the national economy. This sector includes entities employing at least ten employees (approximately 40% of all people working in the Polish economy).
