10 days in Iceland for free. The airline announces a competition

Is it possible to take a bad photo of Iceland? The originators of the latest Icelandair competition argue that it is impossible. Anyone who has taken a bad photo during a vacation or family event in the past can now win a 10-day trip to Iceland as well as a large cash prize. Submissions are accepted until April 30, 2026, and photos taken on the island will be featured in the global campaign. The exact conditions of participation are presented in the regulations.

Such competitions don’t happen often. 50,000 US dollars and 10 days of stay in Iceland – the prize in the latest Icelandair competition definitely attracts attention. What’s more, this time we’re not dealing with a lottery, but a real opportunity to show off your skills – or rather the lack thereof. What exactly is this about?

We are looking for amateur photographers who in the past have had blurred photos or a shadow of a fingertip left in the frame. “We want to prove that even the worst photographer can take great photos of Iceland,” writes Icelandair. There are several conditions. Firstly: lack of professional experience or even special interest in learning photography. In addition, you must be over 21 years old, have a valid passport allowing travel to Iceland, Great Britain and the USA and have a clean criminal record. The trip will take place in June 2026, so you need to be able to spend ten days on it within the allotted time.

Applications by April 30, 2026.

Those interested in taking part in the competition should use the form on the airline’s website to send a 60-second recording explaining why they are ideal candidates. The winner agrees to participate in filming, photography and other marketing activities during and after the trip. Physical fitness is important – there will definitely be some hiking during the trip.
